Apollo 11 30th Anniversary Frame Set

Apollo 11 launched three astronauts on the most significant space journey in history. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the Moon. This limited-edition frame set commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. The frame includes the limited-edition cachet (first-day cover), which features the stamp that honors the "First Man On The Moon." The cover was postmarked from Washington, D.C. on the date it was issued, September 9, 1969. The cover also includes a special "Moon Landing" postmark from July 20, 1969. In addition, the frame includes several lapel-pin emblems, such as the NASA meatball emblem, Apollo Program emblem, and a replica emblem of the plaque left on the Moon by the astronauts. The frame also features limited-edition emblems of the Apollo 11 insignia and the 30th anniversary design. Each frame is individually numbered. Only 1,000 will be made.

Alan Bean -- Reaching for the Stars Print

This is a fantastic multi-signature print of Alan Bean's painting Reaching for the Stars. The painting symbolizes the pioneer astronauts of the space program (Mercury through Apollo-Soyuz). The limited-edition print (1500 total) is a "textured canvas" print, resembling the texture of the original painting. Bean uses unique tools to create texture in his paintings, such as his moon boots, core sample tube, and lunar hammer. Imprints of these artifacts can actually be seen and touched in this canvas print. The print is framed in a 35" x 27" aluminum frame. The canvases were hand signed by 24 astronauts at the induction ceremony and reunion at the Astronaut Hall of Fame in Titusville, Florida in October, 1997. The signers are Alan Shepard, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Wally Schirra, Gordon Cooper, Walt Cunningham, Rusty Schweikart, James McDivitt, James Lovell, Buzz Aldrin, Alan Bean, Pete Conrad, Dick Gordon, Edgar Mitchell, Fred Haise, Charles Duke, Alfred Worden, Paul Weitz, Owen Garriott, Jack Lousma, Bill Pogue, Jerry Carr, Ed Gibson and Tom Stafford. This includes six of the 12 moonwalkers!
